چکیده

Introduction: Although, there is a current regulatory framework for optimal manual handling of loads to preserve health conditions in the industrial sector, technical assessment and use certain instruments are still required diagnosis occupational hazards. This study aimed identify hazards associated with load industry workers estimate those resulting from postural stress. Methods: Fifty-two (52) took part this cross-sectional study. All participants were evaluated using Manual Handling Guide Reba tool. Subjects characterized, risks different tasks detected. Results: 59.6% between 18 45 years old. Lifting, lowering, transporting activities had repetitive task risk 94%, exceeding weight limit 85.7% cases. Pushing pulling activities, mostly showed working 82% high perception initial effort (Borg> 8). score warned intervene immediately both types tasks. Conclusion: Risk found constitutes an alert that suggests reviewing compliance regulation, as well effective pauses improvement strategies minimize physical efforts used by workers.

Study of low back pain intensity and disability index among manual material handling workers of a tile and ceramic industrial unit, Iran (2016)

Background: The revised National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) lifting equation (RNLE) is commonly used for risk assessment of manual handling, and can estimate low back pain (LBP) biomechanical stressors of lifting and/or lowering of loads. The aim of this study was to evaluate manual material handling by using the RNLE, LBP, and LBP disability index (LBPDI) among worker...

Handling load with less stress

We study how the average performance of a system degrades as the load nears its peak capacity. We restrict our attention to the performance measures of average sojourn time and the large deviation rates of buffer overflow probabilities. We first show that for certain queueing systems, the average sojourn time of requests depends much more weakly on the load ρ than the commonly observed 1/(1 − ρ...
